GSL to be acquired by G4S plc

Following a stock exchange announcement today GSL will be acquired by G4S subject to approvals from the European Commission and the South African competition authorities.

GSL employs some 10,000 people in the United Kingdom, South Africa and Australia delivering critical primary and support services for companies and public authorities. Combining GSL with G4S will provide a number of benefits which include a broader service offering in the outsourcing markets for customers as well as career advancement opportunities for staff.
An integration plan will be devised involving representatives from both companies in the coming months to draw the two organisations together once the relevant competition authorities have granted approvals and until then GSL will continue to operate as an independent company.
