Tourism
GSL, trading as Quality in Tourism (QIT), has begun work on the prestigious contract with VisitBritain, managing and conducting nationwide assessments of hotels, guesthouses and bed & breakfast establishments following the launch of the VisitBritain Quality Strategy. QIT is administering the new common standards introduced in January 2006.
VisitBritain is Government funded to promote Britain overseas as a tourism destination and to lead and co-ordinate the marketing of England to the British. QIT has become the information resource to over 600 tourism bodies throughout England.
With a strong team of assessors, QIT is responsible for managing over 20 different assessment schemes, including ones for bed & breakfast, guest houses, hotels and holiday parks. Assessors investigate, evaluate and grade the property according to the facilities it has to offer, the levels of service, value for money and overall guest experience.
QIT will assess over 25,000 facilities in 2005-2006 with participants being given stars or diamonds, depending on the category in which they sit. Quality in Tourism is also handling participants' renewal assessments to ensure they have maintained standards and it processed over 15,000 participant renewals within the first four weeks of the contract.
